At the same time, dynamometer equipment can be seen on the crossover, indicating that the car's engine has been replaced. You can also notice the port intended for the charger. 

The crossover was based on the TNGA platform, designed for electrified cars. Manufacturers are not voicing any technical data on the updated crossover. But despite this, some analysts are confident that the hybrid RAV4 will be equipped with a 2.5-liter Atkinson gasoline unit, paired with which will be installed an upgraded battery. 

According to preliminary data, the crossover will be presented in early 2020. The main competitors of the updated model will be the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Vauxhall Grandland X PHEV.
