Since June 1, Georgia has opened land borders that were previously closed due to the coronavirus, the Coordination Council for the fight against coronavirus said. "A decision was made to open land borders since June 1," the press service of the coordinating council said.

The Georgian officials announced last week about the opening of land borders. Previously, foreigners could only enter the country by air. The country accepts tourists from more than 50 countries of the world if they have a negative PCR test for coronavirus with them.

Georgia shares borders with Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. Georgia's land borders have been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic for over a year. To get to Georgia by land transport, you must have a document confirming that you have a full course of vaccination against coronavirus and made 72 hours before the arrival of a PCR test with a negative result.  Unvaccinated foreigners can provide only the result of the PCR test at the border, but in this case, on the third day of their stay in Georgia, they will have to do it again.  Also, all arriving tourists are recommended to have an insurance policy with them.
