OREANDA-NEWS Experts predict that by the end of 2023 there will be a decrease in prices for new cars in Russia. This forecast is based on current trends in the Russian market. In particular, an active development of production and import of cars from China is expected in connection with Western sanctions against the Russian automotive industry.

The increased presence of Chinese automakers will compensate for the decline in the supply of cars of European and American brands. Chinese companies such as Geely, Chery, Haval and others are already increasing the localization of production in Russia. In addition, they are actively establishing partnerships with Russian enterprises, in particular with AvtoVAZ. As a result, according to experts, an increase in supply will lead to a gradual decrease in prices for new cars. The fall in prices may begin closer to the end of the year.

In the meantime, prices are stabilizing after a sharp rise in price at the beginning of the year. For some 2022 models, car dealers are already making small discounts to stimulate demand. Thus, despite the current difficulties in the automotive industry, analysts predict a gradual decline in prices by the end of 2023 due to the expansion of the presence of Chinese brands in the Russian market.
