Consulate General in Antalya: There are No Russians Among Victims of Road Accident in South-West Turkey
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the Turkish authorities, there were no Russians in a tourist bus that got into an accident in southwestern Turkey, the Russian Consulate General in Antalya told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Turkish media reported about an accident with a tourist bus in the province of Mugla, as a result of which one person died and, according to various sources, from 30 to 49 people, including 41 Ukrainian tourists, were injured. According to DHA, Russians could have been on the bus. The Russian Consulate General in Antalya told RIA Novosti that Russian diplomats are clarifying the circumstances of the accident and the presence of Russians among the injured tourists.
"Today at 7.30 am (same as Moscow time) on the Mugla-Denizli highway, a traffic accident occurred with the participation of a bus carrying out an excursion flight with a group of foreign tourists who were on vacation in Bodrum. A driver was killed by a school minibus, more than 30 people were injured. According to information confirmed at the moment by local authorities and the administration of a medical institution, there are no Russian citizens among the victims, "the agency's source said.
He added that the causes of the accident are being established. Tourists and local citizens, who were injured of varying severity, were taken to a local hospital for examination and the provision of the necessary medical care. The condition of three underage Turkish citizens who were in the minibus at the time of the incident is assessed as grave.
A tourist bus drove into the oncoming lane, crashed into a minibus carrying schoolchildren, and overturned. The tourist bus driver died on the spot. According to preliminary data, he had a heart attack.
