OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of 2025, new passenger cars in Russia have risen in price by 1.5-5 percent. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to market representatives.

According to Sergey Udalov, Executive director of Autostat, the main factor in such a sharp rise in price is an increase in the recycling fee, which continues to be gradually taken into account in the cost of the car. Currently, the prices have not yet fully incorporated the autumn indexation, which is complemented by fluctuations in the ruble exchange rate.

"Promotions and discounts are being canceled, while prices for the new model year are changing. According to some models, the price change is up to four to five percent," he explained.

The most expensive cars are brands that had insignificant stocks in warehouses at the end of the year. For those sellers who expanded the range before the start of the year, the price of cars does not change so critically, added Andrey Olkhovsky, General Director of Avtodom Group. In addition to recycling and the pricing policy, the automaker's position on the Russian market and its future plans in the country affect the pricing policy, said Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine.
