OREANDA-NEWS. The American corporation Boeing has decided to suspend the production of 737 MAX liners from January 2020. This is stated in the statement of the company published on its website. “Boeing has suspended production of the 737 MAX since January, as certification is being postponed until 2020”, the report said. At the same time, the company didn't specify when the release of the aircraft would be resumed.
Boeing believes that the decline in production will allow it to focus on the delivery of ready-made aircraft. “We believe that this decision is the least destructive to maintain a long-term production system and a functioning supply chain”, the corporation added. In connection with this decision, employees involved in the assembly of MAX family liners won't be reduced, the company said. They will either continue to work on the production of 737 aircraft, or will be involved in other projects.
On December 15, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the situation, wrote about Boeing's plans to suspend the production of 737 MAX airliners. As WSJ employees calculated, about 600 companies and hundreds of other subcontractors are participating in the MAX series aircraft manufacturing chain.
