OREANDA-NEWS Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) cancelled the Baku–Kazan-Baku flight scheduled for Wednesday due to the closure of the airspace over Kazan due to the Carpet plan, the company's press service reports.

"Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has cancelled the Baku–Kazan-Baku flight scheduled for today, January 8, 2025. The decision was made in connection with the closure of the airspace over Kazan due to the Carpet plan. AZAL pays high priority to flight safety and strictly adheres to international standards. AZAL continues to closely monitor the situation and will promptly inform passengers of any changes," the statement said.

The "Carpet" mode provides for the closure of the airspace and the immediate departure of all aircraft from this space.
