OREANDA-NEWS. The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation discovered several brands of expensive cars that were not included in the list for calculating the transport tax with increasing coefficients, and suggests improving the existing mechanism for calling the so-called luxury tax, the auditors report on the results of the property tax administration audit for 2016 and 2017.

 This list is approved twice a year by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and published on its official website.  As it turned out, such representatives of the premium and luxury segments like Tesla Motors Model S, Mercedes Benz S63 AMG 4MATIS Limousine L and Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport were not in the list (and therefore they were not taxed as “luxury cars” but as “  state employees "), is surprising and questions.  At the same time, the auditors noted that a raising factor for some “pay lists” machines should not be applied in the first year of production, but the tax authorities “did not receive it” much more.

 “We considered the results together with the tax service and came to the general opinion that it is necessary to improve the mechanism for calculating the tax on expensive cars,” said Mr. Shtogrin.  According to him, it should become more simple and logical.

 Car owners worth between 3 and 5 million rubles must pay a transportation tax of 1.5.  The double tax is valid for cars worth 5-10 million rubles up to five years.  Triple tax - for the model at a price of 10-15 million rubles.
