Network Rail is inviting local residents to a drop-in event
OREANDA-NEWS. The work – part of Network Rail’s £340 million investment in the railway in the Liverpool City Region will complete the installation of a fourth track which will allow faster trains to overtake local stopping services.
The final phase of work will begin in October when week day and some weekend work to the railway will be undertaken.
At the event, which takes place on Thursday 29 September between 4pm and 7pm at The Venue, Civic Way, Poplar Bank, Huyton, L36 9GD, Network Rail staff will be on hand to explain why when this work is due to take place and how it will impact local people, especially those living near to the railway line.
Ana Bradley Pastor, Huyton Scheme Project Manager said: “This is the first step in the final phase of works to bring into use the fourth track at Huyton that is part of a ?340 million investment in the railway of the Liverpool City Region.
“When the work is completed in 2017 connectivity between Liverpool and the east will be greatly improved, which will enable faster journeys between Liverpool and Scotland, Manchester and Leeds.”
