OREANDA-NEWS. IRU has again called for a level playing field in the taxi industry with all relevant laws and regulations applying to all transport companies carrying out the same work. The plea was made at the International ITF meeting held to discuss a possible strategy in the continued challenge to commercial transport intermediaries pretending to be sharing economy players.

UpTop, IRU’s global taxi network, was given as an example of best practice in the taxi sector. It was stressed how the IRU-run global alliance of legal taxi providers offers customers easy access to their services through innovative smart phone apps while driving improved service standards globally.
