OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2016 in course of a business meeting in Moscow Alexander Sapronov, Executive Director of Joint Stock Company Freight One (Freight One), and Edvins Berzin?, President of Latvijas dzelzcel? (Latvian Railways, LDz), signed a memorandum of cooperation and agreed on development of transport and logistics partership.

The document provides for cooperation between the companies in terms of quality improvement of the transportation process, advancement of Freight One?s rolling stock utilization, including reduction of railcar empty run and standstill under handling operations, as well as assistance in introducing customer-focused policy to railway transport.

In particular, Freight One and LDz have agreed on joint implementation of new technologies in operation and arrangement of goods loading to increase transportation volumes.

Additionally, the parties have coordinated mutual consultancy to develop practical approaches to the quantity and characteristics of rolling stock required, as well as the opportunities to access the infrastructure and information resources of both companies.

Participants of the meeting also discussed several operational and strategic issues of cooperation between the companies.

«The memorandum signed with our Latvian partners will improve our efficiency in regulating legal, technological, and financial issues arising in the course of international transportation. This measure will strengthen Freight One?s position in the Baltic region and will help to increase transportation volumes and improve the quality of services for Russian, CIS and European consignors,» said Alexander Sapronov, Executive Director of Freight One, commenting on the occasion.
