OREANDA-NEWS. The head of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Askar Mamin acquainted with the construction of the second track on the Almaty-1 – Shu piece of line, which raises under the program "Nurly Zhol".

On August 26th and on September 6th in connection with the construction work on laying the second track will be changed the schedule of passenger and freight trains movement at the Almaty-1 – Shu piece of line.

"We will finish all the planned work in time. 15th of September this year is planned to complete the excavation, by 30 October will be completed all work on laying the upper track construction", - assured the head of the branch of JSC "NC "KTZ" - "Directorate of railway lines construction" Rustem Moldagulov.

During the meeting A. Mamin noted the strategic importance of the object, which construction is entering a decisive phase.

"This year is very special for our country, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan. The first starting complex of Almaty-1 - Shu will be a good stepping stone for further work on the project as a whole", - said A. Mamin.

In accordance with the project, on the second main track will be laid upper track construction in the length of 110 km. On the area will be built 90 artificial building, including 10 bridges, 63 culverts, 35 switches will stacked.

On the first start-up complex the first 58.2 kilometers is planned to open traffic in November this year.

Construction of the second track from Almaty-1 to Shu will increase the through capacity in 3.2 times and up freight trains to 68 pairs of trains per day. The time of freight trains’ movement will be reduced by more than two times.
