Services Signficantly Affected Following Large Gas Leak
OREANDA-NEWS. The leak was discovered at about 3am this morning(16 August) and following discussions with emergency services and the utility company electric power has been switched off to limit the risk of igniting the leaked gas.
The incident means that services to Stansted Airport and into Liverpool Street station have been affected and it is anticipated that this will remain the case throughout the morning peak with initial estimates that services will resume at around 9am. Services to Stansted Airport, between Hertford East and Stratford, to Bishop Stortford, to Broxborne and to Cambridge and Kings Lynn via Seven Sisters are all affected. The Brimsdown level crossing has also been closed as a precaution.
Passengers are advised to check with your train operator before travelling.
