Network Rail Director Talks to Upminster School Children
OREANDA-NEWS. Children from the Oakfields Montessori School, Harwood Hall, Upminster, received a talk on Friday 1 July, as part of one of a series of school visits aimed at teaching school children about the dangers around the railway.
Eliane explained to the children about how to stay safe around the railway, how to use level crossings safely and the dangers of trespassing.
Eliane Algaard, Network Rail’s director of route asset management for Anglia, said: “Network Rail’s main aim is to keep everyone safe around the railway. This was a great opportunity to talk to the children about how they can keep themselves and others safe when using the railway.”
Headteacher, Mrs Laura Ciftci, said: “Oakfields looks forward to working closely with Network Rail in order to prepare its pupils for a seamless transition onto secondary school and the possibility of daily commuting by either bus or train.”
