OREANDA-NEWS. On Thursday, June 9, the JSC “Ventspils nafta” subsidiary “LatRosTrans” Ltd (LRT) ranked in the silver category in the 2016 Sustainability Index.

LRT participates in the Sustainability Index for the third year and has been awarded silver category evaluation by corporate responsibility and sustainability experts for the second year. The award is a testimony to the company’s focused work, following corporate responsibility strategy, promoting the effective involvement of influential parties and introducing processes for risk identification and management.

“The specific nature of LRT’s operations requires that the company complies with not only safety and environment protection requirements, but also ensures the quality of services to clients and professional cooperation in accordance with international standards. Results of the Sustainability Index prove that we have been able to maintain the company’s positions at a high level. Participation in the Sustainability Index allows to assess the company’s performance and to see the aspects where determined improvements are necessary,” informs the LRT Management Board member Dmitry Barkov.

Sustainability Index is organised in Latvia for the seventh year, it is a strategic management instrument based on experience of the most influential global indices Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Business in the Community CR Index, and internationally recognised methodology in five categories: strategy, work environment, market relations, environment and society or the local community.
