OREANDA-NEWS. On Thursday, June 9, JSC “Latvian Shipping Company” (LSC) ranked in the gold category in the 2016 Sustainability Index and gained the status of “Family friendly company”.

LSC participated in the Sustainability Index for the second year. Last year the experts in corporate responsibility and sustainability evaluated the company’s performance and awarded it with the silver category. This year the result has improved – the company has received the gold category evaluation.

The Chairman of the LSC Management Board Robert Kirkup says: “Focused work has been invested during the last year to ensure that the company operates in line with the highest corporate responsibility, environment protection and safety standards. This year’s high evaluation of the Sustainability Index experts and the status “Family friendly company”, delights and motivates the whole LSC team for new challenges in the future.”

By qualifying for the gold category of the Sustainability Index, LSC confirms that it is among the companies that demonstrate openness and transparency, aspires to expand and adapts its risk management processes by including in the most relevant aspects of corporate responsibility.
