Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles launches retrofitting solution for Caddy 1.6 TDI models affected by the diesel issue.
Following close consultations with the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, the current goal at Volkswagen is that the technical retrofitting solution also should not result in any changes to the fuel consumption values, performance data or noise emissions of the affected vehicles. In the case of the Caddy 4 (2016 model year) 1.6 TDI with a manual gearbox and an N1 commercial registration, the KBA has now confirmed that this goal has been fully achieved and has therefore approved the retrofitting solution for the affected vehicles.
All affected customers are now being informed of the recall measure and asked to make an appointment with an authorised Volkswagen partner of their choice.
Customers will not incur any costs as a result of the technical measures. In addition, all customers will be offered a suitable replacement mobility option free of charge as part of the recall process.
It should also be noted that all affected vehicles are technically sound and safe to drive, which means they can be used without restriction until the retrofitting solution is implemented. The implementation of the necessary technical measures is being carried out in accordance with the timetable and action plan agreed upon with the Federal Motor Transport Authority.
