OREANDA-NEWS. The total demand of the secondary car market in batteries for 2016 in Russia is 11.1 million units. Such data was received by experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" within the preparation of the report "The market of automotive batteries in Russia. The results of the 2015. Trends and Prospects".

The largest "consumer" of starter batteries - is the segment of passenger cars (8 million units, the market share is 72.2%). Approximately 1.8 million units of the battery are necessary for the secondary market for the needs of commercial vehicles (15.9%), 1.1 million units - for light commercial vehicles (10.3%) and 0.2 million units - for buses.

As for the regions, then here, according to the research agency, in the first place – there is the capital and its suburbs. Thus, the total demand for batteries in the secondary market of Moscow and Moscow region (in all segments) exceeds slightly 1.5 million units. Among them only Moscow has almost 900 thousand units. The needs of the Moscow region are reflected in the number of 640 thousand units.

In many regions, the market capacity of the battery is also expressed in six-digit figures. For example, the battery market capacity in the Krasnodar region and in St. Petersburg is more than 400 thousand units. And in Rostov, Sverdlovsk region and Tatarstan, it is higher than 300 thousand units. The top-ten by this indicator also includes Bashkortostan, Primorsky Krai and Chelyabinsk region (in each region - more than 200 thousand units).
