OREANDA-NEWS. An emergency regime was introduced in Palana in Kamchatka after the An-26 crash, the deputy head of the village Andrei Ulyanov told RIA Novosti.

"We have introduced an emergency regime," said the interlocutor of the agency.

The plane flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky disappeared on Tuesday before the maneuver during the landing approach 9 kilometers from the village of Palana. Onboard there were 28 people: six crew members and 22 passengers, including a child. All of them, according to preliminary data, died. Search work is underway. The remains of 19 bodies were reported.

Rescuers surveyed almost 22 square kilometers of territory in the area of the An-26 crash in Kamchatka per day, the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told reporters.

"During the day, 17.5 square kilometers of the coastal zone and 4.2 square kilometers of mountainous terrain were examined," the department said.

Divers also began looking for the bodies of the victims and flight recorders. More than 60 people are involved in the work.

The head of the Ministry of Transport, Vitaly Savelyev, said that the technical commission, which will have to understand the causes of the incident, is considering three factors - bad weather conditions, possible equipment failure, crew error.

Hundreds of residents of the village of Palana in Kamchatka laid flowers, candles and toys at the spontaneous memorial on the stage on the central square in memory of those killed in the An-26 crash.

Slightly more than 170 relatives of those killed in the An-26 plane crash in Kamchatka received the help of psychologists by calling the hotline, a representative of the emergency services told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
