Air Astana Announced the Termination of Flights over Iran

OREANDA-NEWS. The Kazakhstan airline Air Astana announced the termination of flights in the airspace of Iran and Iraq. This was reported in the press service of the airline on Wednesday. Air Astana has decided to change the route from Almaty to Nur Sultan to Dubai, eliminating flights in the airspace of Iraq and Iran, the statement said.
At the same time, the flight time on the route Alma-Ata - Dubai will increase by 20 minutes, Dubai - Alma-Ata - by 10 minutes, Nur-Sultan - Dubai - by 55 minutes, Dubai - Nur-Sultan - by 35 minutes. The company promised to closely monitor the development of events and inform the public if further changes occur.
Earlier, the US Federal Aviation Administration banned American civilian aircraft flying over the territory of Iraq, Iran, the waters of the Persian and Oman gulfs. Malaysia Airlines announced on Wednesday a change in flight routes in Iranian airspace. A similar statement was made by Singapore Airlines.
