Aeroflot to Launch Four New Routes in Summer
OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot, the largest Russian airline, introduced four new routes for its summer schedule, for Russia and Europe. Starting from June 1, two new international routes will be launched, from Moscow to Marseille and Palma de Mallorca.
In the new summer schedule the largest Russian airline Aeroflot will introduce four new routes for domestic and international flights. This was reported on Thursday by Russian media, citing the message of the press-cutting service of the company. It is announced that, according to the long-term tradition, the seasonal flight schedule will take effect on the last Sunday of March.
“The main novelty in this summer schedule is two domestic routes - from Krasnodar to Simferopol and from Volgograd to Sochi”, the press-cutting service states.
The new program will be launched on June 1, with the beginning of the period of greatest demand. In addition, from June 1, two new international routes will be launched - from Moscow to Marseille and Palma de Mallorca. "Airplanes A320 will operate on the new European routes", the message says.
In general, the new summer schedule includes Aeroflot's own flights on 159 routes, of which 58 are domestic, 18 are interregional, and 83 are international. In addition to four new routes, flights from Moscow to a number of cities in Russia and abroad will appear again in the schedule after winter cancellation. In particular, by the end of October there will be 21 flights a week to Gelendzhik, 14 flights a week to Heraklion and 7 flights a week to Split.
In addition, based on seasonal demand, Aeroflot has planned an extensive program of transportation to the resorts of the Black Sea coast. "Compared to the winter schedule of 2018/2019, the frequency of flights to Anapa will increase from 21 to 35 per week, to Simferopol from 28 to 84 per week, and to Sochi from 70 to 77 per week," the airline emphasized.
"Compared to the winter season, we will increase the number of flights to European capitals - to Athens from 14 to 21 per week, Budapest - from 21 to 28 per week, London - from 32 to 35 per week, Madrid - from 14 to 21 per week, Tbilisi - from 11 to 14 per week", press-cutting service says. The frequency of flights to Antalya, Burgas, Larnaca, Malaga, Nice, Thessaloniki, and Tivat will also increase.
The company will also continue developing strategically important areas between Europe and Asia. This, first of all, is about increasing the number of flights to Seoul (from 7 to 14 per week) and Beijing (from 14 to 21 per week).
