OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot Airlines was recognized as the most punctual air carrier in the world in 2019 according to the Cirium analytical company. This is stated in a press release issued on Thursday by the organization. When forming the 11th annual rating, the company analyzed 290 thousand flights operated by the Russian air carrier. 86.7% of them were completed on time.

"To prepare a review of the most punctual airlines and airports, we analyze the data at the highest level, and are very pleased to announce that Aeroflot has become a leader in punctuality among the world's leading air carriers", said Cirium CEO Jeremy Bowen. Compared to last year's figures Aeroflot "began to more effectively control all environmental factors, which helped it to increase its efficiency".

Japanese ANA (punctuality on 86.26% of flights) and American Delta Air Lines (85.69%) go on the second place of the global rating after Aeroflot. The study notes that during the reporting period, 95.01% of flights were sent from the airport on time, and the average delay time was only 15 minutes.
