OREANDA-NEWS. In the Belarusian city of Baranovichi, a military plane crashed into a private house on takeoff, the pilot died. The accident was reported on Wednesday by the local newspaper Nash Krai.

The message on the website of the publication says: "The tragic incident occurred in the afternoon of May 19 ... The plane took off from the airfield in the direction of the Vostochny microdistrict. On takeoff, it crashed into a private house on Rosa Luxemburg Street."

It is alleged that "a pilot died in the crash."

Local publications publish footage from the scene.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of RIA Novosti has not yet been able to comment on the message.

According to the updated information of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, not one, but two pilots died in the plane crash in Baranovichi.

The military department reported that the pilots tried to divert the plane from residential buildings and ejected at the last moment when they saw that the trajectory of its fall was safe for the population.

It should be recalled that the military airfield is located southeast of the city of Baranovichi. It houses the 61st Fighter Air Base. The airbase is armed with modern Su-30SM aircraft.
