The second-generation KAMAZ-6282 electrobus was presented in Podolsk
The bus was presented in the course of the offsite session of the technical council with the participation of experts of Mosavtotransport and representatives of various qutomobile plants, including GAZ Group, Scania Rus, ZF Russia, MAZ, and others. All of them gathered in order to share their experience in using buses and discuss advanced models which Mosavtotransport plans to buy in the future.
Talking about the potential of KAMAZ's electrobus, Victor Khalzov, Chief Engineer of GUP Mosavtotransport, made a special mention of its pros. "This is already the second model of our fleet represented here which is now undergoing test operation. It runs along one of the routes of Odintsovo's enterprise which serves Skolkovo," he told. "This is a reliable electrobus that can travel 100 km without recharging. The first prototype could be charged only at nights. This one is designed for boost charging, so it takes only 15 minutes to recharge it. At first, recharge stations will appear on the territory of Skolkovo. And later, if there is positive feedback on the use of electrobuses, we'll start using them on other routes and improving infrastructure alongside with expansion of the traffic diagram."
The representative of Mosavtotransport added that such a vehcile would be able to run as a limited-stop bus along Route 21 (Stations Podolsk – Kuznechiki) in prospect. At the same time, the fare in the new type of transport won't grow, and the driving speed will increase as the bus gains speed better and slows down smoothly. The managers of Mosavtotransport came to a conclusion that electrobuses are moch more comfortable for passengers, and they don't even feel how the bus is running because it's almost noiseless.
