OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2016. Under-Secretary General, Igor Runov, who leads IRU’s work with the United Nations in New York, briefed members of the Presidential Administration, the Government and the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic on new opportunities and projects linked to the recent creation of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Transport (GPST).

The Government emphasised the importance of sustainable passenger transport and multimodal transport corridors in the economic development of Kyrgyzstan and gave its support for the GPST. Both sides agreed to cooperate on the implementation of a joint IRU-World Bank project in monitoring the transport of perishable agricultural products along Eurasian transport corridors.
