OREANDA-NEWS  Delta teams are working hard to provide relief to Caribbean islands ravaged by Hurricane Irma, delivering thousands of pounds of supplies via and transporting customers via humanitarian flights.

The latest flight arrived today in St. Maarten after four days of intense coordination with government agencies, landing at 11:03 a.m. today and due back in Atlanta by 7:15 p.m.

"I am incredibly proud of the Delta team and our ability to rally in times of crisis," said Gareth Joyce, S.V.P - Airport Customer Service. "Delta people continue to deliver badly needed supplies to island communities and provide transportation to customers left stranded by Irma's destruction."

On Tuesday, Delta operated a humanitarian flight to St. Thomas and one Wednesday to Turks and Caicos.

Delta flew humanitarian flights earlier this week to bring stranded passengers from St. Thomas and Providenciales.

While the St. Maarten and St. Thomas airports remain closed, Delta resumed service to Turks and Caicos today. Delta also became the first U.S. airline to resume operations to Havana on Tuesday from New York-JFK, Miami and Atlanta.
