Delta closely monitoring conditions along Irma’s path Sunday

OREANDA-NEWS. With operations ceased at nearly all Florida airports, Delta teams are monitoring conditions and fine-tuning forecasts to determine potential impact at Delta's Atlanta hub for Monday, as well as understand when flying will resume at airports affected by Hurricane Irma.
With strong winds and extended rain expected in Georgia on Monday, Delta is advising customers who are transiting through the airline's Atlanta hub Monday modify their itineraries around ATL on delta.com.
Delta is flying an extra flight on Sunday between Atlanta and San Juan, Puerto Rico, to assist Caribbean recovery efforts.
Delta has combined and consolidated fee waivers through Sept. 17 for customers transiting three dozen destinations where flights will be affected by Irma, and has created a new waiver for St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Turks and Caicos for customers ticketed through Oct. 31.
