Air Canada Launches New Service, Connecting Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Vancouver
OREANDA-NEWS. Air Canada has expanded its service between Texas and Canada, now offering customers nonstop daily flights from Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport to Vancouver, British Columbia. DFW Airport honored the carrier’s inaugural departure from Terminal E today with a gate celebration attended by Sara Wilshaw, Consul General of Canada.
"DFW Airport has had a great relationship with Air Canada since flights to Toronto started in 1976, and we are pleased that the airline is now offering our customers access to Vancouver," said John Ackerman, DFW Airport’s executive vice president of Global Strategy and Development. "Last year, more than 750,000 passengers traveled between DFW and Canada, with nearly 225,000 passengers to British Columbia."
Canada's flag carrier is among the 20 largest airlines in the world. Air Canada provides passenger service directly to 64 airports in Canada, 55 in the United States and 87 throughout the rest of the world.
"This new direct route between Dallas Fort Worth and Vancouver is excellent news for American and Canadian travelers alike," said Sara Wilshaw, Consul General of Canada. "Connecting the booming Metroplex and even larger region directly with the growing global hub of Vancouver will provide passengers with numerous, convenient travel options."
Air Canada’s daily flights from DFW Airport to Vancouver will depart at 7:25 a.m. seven days per week. Flights will be operated by Jazz Aviation LP with 75-seat, Wi-Fi equipped CRJ-705 aircraft, offering Business and Economy cabins, as well as in-flight entertainment at every seat.
"Air Canada is very pleased to launch our new Dallas Fort Worth to Vancouver service. North Texas is popular with Canadians for both business and leisure and we believe Texans will be keen to visit Vancouver, one of Canada’s most beautiful and dynamic cities," said Lisa Pierce, Senior Director, U.S.A. Sales and Marketing at Air Canada. "Recognizing the appeal of North Texas, Air Canada is devoting considerable capacity to the market we already have service four times daily from Toronto. In addition to this new Vancouver route, we will be adding daily service from Montreal in May."
DFW has strategically focused on global expansion and world-class amenities, attracting new international carriers and destinations every year. This newest route strengthens DFW Airport’s position as the premier mid-continent gateway.
