OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia records a decrease in the cost of butter in the wholesale segment, which should also affect retail, the department reported.

According to the ministry, oil prices in stores should decrease in the medium term.

In the long term, the Ministry of Agriculture aims to increase the production of raw milk, which will make it possible to achieve self-sufficiency in milk and dairy products. Another measure of state support for the dairy industry is preferential lending and compensation for capital expenditures, as well as direct measures to support producers, the ministry explained.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev gave a number of instructions in order to stabilize butter prices in the domestic market.
