OREANDA-NEWS Analysts of the Russian metasearch engine Aviasales on Thursday, August 29, reported that the cost of a flight to Tunisia in September compared to the same period in 2018 decreased by 37 percent - to 15,228 rubles. According to them, in general, a drop in interest in tourists in the velvet season is noticeable.

Intourist Executive Director Sergei Tolchin added that the September load is worse than last year. According to him, perhaps this is due to fierce competition with the Turkish direction.

The Biblio-Globe noted a decrease in the cost of tours by 20-40 percent and explained what was happening seasonally. Biblio-Globe’s PR manager Svetlana Beshanova added that in Tunisia, traditionally, hotels have been offering cheaper accommodation since September 1 than during the peak period from July 1 to August 31.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, in 2018, 611 thousand Russians rested in Tunisia. The tourist flow from the Russian Federation to Tunisia for the first half of 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 decreased by 6.8 percent.
