So, by the end of January-September 2024, the United States became the main buyer of champagne in the world - the country purchased this drink for $ 1.24 billion. The top three buyers also included the United Kingdom with $817 million and Japan with $474 million. The same countries were leaders a year earlier.

Germany and Italy, which entered the top five, remained in their places, importing a festive drink worth 314 and 218 million dollars, respectively. Belgium followed with $199 million and Australia with $170 million.

In the first nine months of last year, Russia rose to eighth place from ninth, although the volume of its champagne purchases decreased by 12% to $ 163 million. Switzerland and Canada rounded out the top ten, purchasing sparkling wine for 151 and 142 million dollars.
Sweden (134 million), France (132 million), Spain (87 million), Austria (81 million) and Denmark (78 million) followed. Latvia (62 million), Norway (59 million), Poland (53 million), Finland (45 million) and Mexico (42 million) rounded out the top twenty.

Among all these countries, imports increased the most from Sweden - by 5%, France - by 4%, as well as Finland and Denmark - by 1% each. There were significantly more States that reduced purchases.
