OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian government has increased import duties on alcoholic beverages and flowers from unfriendly countries.

According to the decree signed on July 29, 2024 and posted on the official portal of legal information, the rate on wine from unfriendly countries will increase to 25%, but not less than $ 2 per 1 liter. Currently, it is 20% of the customs value. Strong alcohol (alcoholic tinctures, whiskey, rum, gin, liqueurs and other alcoholic beverages) can be imported at a rate of 20% of the customs value, but not less than 3 euros per 1 liter of 100% alcohol. Currently, the duty rate on these products is 1.4-1.5 euros per 1 liter of anhydrous alcohol.

The duty rate on the import of cut flowers from unfriendly countries will increase to 20% of the customs value from 5%, but not less than 0.3 euros per 1 kg.

The new duties will be in effect until December 31, 2024.

The resolution comes into force within seven days from the date of publication.
