OREANDA-NEWS  Since the resolution of parallel imports under the mechanism, 2.4 million tons of goods worth over $ 20 billion have been imported into Russia. This was announced by the head of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia Vladimir Bulavin on the TV channel "Russia 24".

"These are, first of all, cars, machine tools, equipment, technological lines. But there are also light industry goods. We believe that this also has a significant impact on the stabilization of prices in our market," Bulavin added.

According to the head of the Federal Customs Service, the permission of parallel imports did not lead to an increase in the volume of counterfeit products imported into the country. He stressed that in the framework of parallel imports, Russia receives primarily original products, "when the copyright holder, for one reason or another, does not want to take part in the generally accepted turnover of these goods."

In December, the first deliveries of alcohol of foreign brands that left the domestic market by parallel import started in Russia. Jack Daniel's, Aberfeldy, Grant's and other brands began to be imported into the country again. The cost of most drinks has remained the same, and a shortage of products is not expected, the retail chains said.
