OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, the number of housing transactions involving Russian citizens increased by 155.04 percent, or 2.3 thousand transactions, compared to the same period in 2022. The fact that the number of transactions involving Russian citizens in the real estate market of a foreign country has soared 2.5 times, was reported by the experts of Easyhome Turkey.

In addition, compared to January-March 2021, in 2023, the positive dynamics amounted to 317.37 percent, or 2.9 thousand transactions. In total, in the first quarter, Russians purchased more than 3.9 thousand real estate objects in Turkey, which is only 1.4 thousand less than the result for the whole of 2021.

Experts also noted that the indicator of March 2023 by 114.8 percent, or 628 transactions, exceeded the parameter for the same month of 2022. In just the third month of this year, Russian citizens have purchased more than 1.1 thousand real estate objects in Turkey.

According to Natalia Mikhailova, head of the office of the Easyhome Turkey real estate agency, the share of transactions of Russians in the Turkish real estate market is not so great — according to the results of 2022, it amounted to about one percent. Most of the housing in the country is bought by its citizens. The realtor suggested that, despite the active discussions on the ban on the purchase of housing in Turkey by foreigners, the state authorities are unlikely to make such a decision.

In May, the experts of the BEST HOUSE ALANYA company came to the conclusion that Russian citizens became more interested in buying housing in Turkey. According to their data, in April 2023, Russian demand for real estate in Turkey increased for the first time since January — the positive dynamics amounted to 6.77 percent compared to March.
