OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2024, the number of fashion retailers based in Turkey and operating in Russia will grow to 24. This was reported to Kommersant (Kommersant) in Nikoliers.
It is clarified that this is more than twice as high as at the beginning of 2022, when there were 11 of them. According to the Fashion Consulting Group (FCG), in 2022-2023, of the 27 new foreign retail companies, 26 percent were in Turkey. In addition, Turkish sellers already operating in the country, such as LC Waikiki, Colin's, DeFacto, Koton, are actively expanding in the Russian market.
According to the publication, the active exit of Turkish fashion chains in the Russian Federation was facilitated by the withdrawal of international brands from the Russian market after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine in 2022.
Earlier it was reported that stores of eight foreign brands have already appeared in Russian shopping centers since January 2024. Among them are the Turkish home goods chain Chakra, electronics retailer Tecno from China, cosmetics brand from Armenia 22/11 Cosmetics, as well as clothing brands Ellsay and Baasploa from China, Josiny from South Korea, Laurel from Germany and Rinascimento from Italy, CORE.XP reported.
