"The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia proposes to introduce mandatory labeling by means of identification of certain types of goods for children from March 1, 2025. So, from March 1, 2025, it is planned to introduce requirements for registration of participants in the turnover of toys for children in the information labeling system, and from June 1, 2025 – for applying identification tools to products put into circulation," the release says.
The corresponding draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is posted on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

The Ministry recalls that from December 20, 2023 to December 1, 2024, a voluntary experiment on labeling children's toys is taking place in Russia. Within its framework, manufacturers, importers and wholesale and retail trade organizations can test technologies for applying identification tools to goods and work out the procedure for interaction of turnover participants with the labeling system.

The Russian government previously reported that the experiment covers products for children under the age of 14. Such products include scooters, toy cars, strollers for dolls and dolls themselves, puzzles, sets of electric racing cars, card and board games, billiards and pinball tables.
