OREANDA-NEWS  The European Union has been increasing beer exports to Russia for the fourth month in a row - in May it reached 24 million euros, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of Eurostat data.

So, at the end of spring, Russia increased purchases of this alcohol from the EU by 4% - up to 24 million euros. Exports have been growing since January of this year, when they amounted to only 14.9 million euros, and in May for the second month in a row remained at the highest since August last year. Latvia increased supplies the most in May - by 1.8 times compared to April, up to 1.9 million euros.

The Netherlands increased exports by a quarter to 1.2 million euros, and the Czech Republic by 16% to 3.4 million euros. Russian purchases from Lithuania also increased (+7%, 4.3 million euros) and Poland (+5%, 2.2 million). The largest exporter of beer in Russia remains Germany, in may deliveries decreased by 4% to 8.1 million euros. Belgian beer exports also decreased by a quarter, to 2.5 million euros.

Interestingly, in May, for the first time since the autumn of 2022, Hungary resumed beer supplies to Russia, but they are small - only by 103 thousand euros.
