OREANDA-NEWS Over the past five years, the demand for couriers has sharply increased in Russia — the number of vacancies has increased 11 times over this period. Such conclusions were reached by analysts of the Avito Work service and the Salary Index aggregator.
The biggest jump comes in 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic began, and delivery services began to develop actively. During that period, the number of courier vacancies posted increased by 145 percent year-on-year. This year, more than 300 thousand couriers are in demand, and the number of vacancies has soared by 113 percent compared to last year.
In parallel with the growing demand for this profession, the salaries of delivery workers have also risen. According to the results of the study, the rate has doubled over the past five years, primarily for foot couriers. According to Salary Index, the average salary of a Russian courier is about 50 thousand rubles. At the same time, wage growth by region remains uneven: for example, in the third quarter of 2022, growth "sank" in the Central Region, while wages continued to increase in the South, the Urals and Siberia.
