OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, food and building materials prices rose the most in 2021, by 12% and 20%, respectively. This was reported to URA.RU by Ivan Fedyakov, general director of the information and analytical agency Infoline.
“If we take consumer goods, then the two groups of the most increased prices are food - more than 12% growth, and building materials - there is an increase of more than 20%. Both groups of goods can be classified as socially significant. Food - obviously, and building materials - almost all Russians buy something for their homes during the year, ”said Ivan Fedyakov.
The analyst noted that with such an increase in prices, there was also an increase in the income of the population of Russia. “We see that against the backdrop of a shortage of personnel, many enterprises began to raise salaries, and unlike previous periods of time, the increase in salaries concerned both highly qualified specialists, there was always a shortage of them, and low-skilled personnel,” the expert emphasized.
At the same time, said Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Prices of the PRUE. G.V. Plekhanova, Candidate of Economic Sciences Maria Dolgova, there are still factors in the economy that will continue the upward trend in prices in the first six months of 2022. “The year has begun, but the factors and reasons that lead to price increases have not gone away. If we are talking about food, these are the weather conditions that led to the harvest that was harvested in the fall. This factor works not only in our country, but also abroad, that is, wheat prices have risen all over the world, ”she clarified in an interview with URA.RU.
The candidate of economic sciences noted that only in the second half of the year one can hope for a decrease in inflation rates. “In 2022, at best, we can expect a slowdown in inflation. Most likely, this will manifest itself only in the summer, in the second half of the year it will be more pronounced, ”concluded Dolgova.
