Russians Complained about Worsening Working Conditions at Remote Work
OREANDA-NEWS. For a year now, Russians, like residents of other countries, have had to live in a pandemic, isolation and remote work. And here is one of the results of the pandemic year: every fourth Russian after switching to remote work complains about a decrease in wages. This was found out by analysts of the Megaplan company, having interviewed 1,500 employees of Russian organizations. True, things are not bad for everyone: for 15% of the lucky ones, salaries even increased after switching to remote work. The rest of the income remained the same.
But the control from the side of the management at remote work has increased. This is understandable: a strict boss will never believe that a subordinate will work in full force, if he does not stand above his soul. More than half of the employees of the companies complained that the boss began to follow them more closely. Some have to report on the beginning of the working day, others are monitored using special programs. And they only dream about peace: more than 40% of employees said that during the removal, the bosses did not give leave or reduced their duration. It is even worse, one in five companies refuse to give remote employees sick leave.
However, as the survey showed, in most of the companies during the pandemic year, the working conditions did not worsen. The most conscientious bosses, even remotely, observed the provisions of the Labor Code.
The survey has shown that every seventh Russian company has introduced new fines after switching to telecommuting. Employers fine their subordinates for not completing work tasks on time, for leaving the workplace without warning, for not answering a boss's question for too long, or for being late for work, that is, for authorization too late in the time tracking system.
