OREANDA-NEWS Recently, the number of counterfeit auto parts has increased sharply in the Russian market, their share has reached its maximum since 2007, and even large sites do not disdain selling counterfeit goods at the price of the original. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the assessment of experts and market participants.

According to estimates by the international network of car service Fit Service and the analytical agency Gruzdev Analyze, 37 percent of mechanics have already encountered fakes. They complained most often about fuels and lubricants (54 percent), filters (35 percent), spark plugs (33 percent), steering parts and suspensions (19 percent).

A year earlier, there was one and a half to two times less counterfeit in all positions. As Nikita Rodionov, technical director of Fit Service, pointed out, most often they fake what is easier to make in an artisanal way, and what has a stable demand, respectively, it is fake fuels and lubricants that have flooded the market more than other positions.

For the most part, ordinary car owners stumble upon fakes, because two-thirds of the counterfeit market is filled with parts that are purchased independently. However, in some cases, car service stations cannot distinguish counterfeit packaging and appearance. Also, many scammers began to realize that too large discounts cause buyers to fear, so they offer a fake at a price only slightly less than the original.

Earlier, the National Automobile Union (NAS) suggested that by the end of the year, the cost of carsharing and car rental will increase by 10-20 percent, which is due to an increase in the recycling fee and an increase in service prices.
