OREANDA-NEWS  The largest global importers of sparkling wine in the first eight months of last year were the United States, Great Britain and Japan, and Russia took ninth place in this list, RIA Novosti calculated based on open data.

So, the leaders of sparkling wine imports in 2023 - the United States - bought it for $ 981 million. Next in terms of imports is the United Kingdom with 764 million dollars. Japan closes the top three with imports of $ 485 million.

Champagne is also loved in a number of European countries. So, in Germany, in the eight months of 2023, it was imported in the amount of 321 million dollars, in Italy - in the amount of 235 million dollars, and in Belgium - 216 million dollars.

Switzerland is among the world's ten largest importers of sparkling wine - the supply of the drink to the country amounted to $ 159 million and Australia - 158 million. The ninth place was taken by Russia, which bought $ 155 million worth of champagne in eight months last year.
