OREANDA-NEWS  By the end of 2023, Russian exporters sent a total of 1.29 million tons of seafood to China. The achieved result was the highest in the entire history of statistical observations, TASS reports, citing data from Rosrybolovstvo.

Such dynamics, as specified in the department, was stated by Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Guoqing. According to Chinese customs statistics, the supply of Russian fish products by the end of 2023 increased by 36.1 percent compared to 2022. The value of exports amounted to 2.89 billion dollars.

The ministry noted that China is now the main market for Russian fish suppliers and retains its leadership over the past few years. Currently, China accounts for a total of about half of all Russian fish exports. In the first five months of 2024, 522.64 thousand tons of fish products were sent from the Russian Federation to the Asian country.

Earlier, the TASS agency, citing data from the Primorsky Interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Administration, reported a sharp increase in the export of fish products from the Primorsky Territory and the Sakhalin Region to China. In the first five months, a total of about 476.2 thousand tons were exported along this route. Compared to the same period in 2023, the indicator increased by 21 percent.
