OREANDA-NEWS  In January-July 2024, Russia bought 22.2 thousand tons of apples in China. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Rusprodsoyuz association.

Compared to the same period in 2023, imports increased 2.9 times. A year ago, it was about 7,6 thousand tons.

It is also noted that the prices of apples imported from China decreased by 24.1 percent compared to last year's values — to $ 904.4 per ton.

According to data for the second half of August, apples were most expensive in Russia in the Far East. Residents of this region had to pay an average of slightly more than 239 rubles per kilogram of these fruits. They were sold the cheapest in the Southern Federal District — 128.7 rubles.

In the week from August 27 to September 2, apples in Russia fell by 1.7 percent. On average, the price of fruits dropped by 1.66 percent.
