OREANDA-NEWS In August, Russia increased metal supplies to Brazil by one and a half times. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the Brazilian state service.

It is clarified that the increase in supplies is due to an increase in demand for iron and steel, as well as nickel. At the end of the summer, Russia supplied $51.1 million worth of metals to the South American country against $35.1 million a year earlier.

Brazil bought iron and steel the most — by 48.2 million dollars, imports decreased by one and a half times year on year. The import of nickel has increased more than sixfold — to $ 2.6 million. Aluminum has the highest growth rate — its purchases by Brazil increased almost 50 times over the year, to 300 thousand dollars.

Earlier it became known that by the end of July 2024, the total cost of supplying products from Russia to Brazil increased by 1.7 times compared to the same period in 2023 and exceeded the billion dollar mark.
