OREANDA-NEWS The Rosselkhoznadzor has detected salmonella in pork from the Brazilian manufacturer Seara Alimentos Ltda, control over its products has been strengthened, the agency told RIA Novosti.

Prior to that, in 2023, enhanced laboratory control was already introduced for the supply of products from this enterprise due to the single detection of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria in pork.

"The Rosselkhoznadzor is continuously monitoring incoming products from third countries, including Brazil, according to the results of which a violation (bacteria of the genus Salmonella) was detected in the products (pork - ed.) of the Seara Alimentos Ltda enterprise," the department said.

Upon the fact of the detected violation, the Rosselkhoznadzor "introduced enhanced laboratory control over incoming products from the specified enterprise", and also appealed to the competent Brazilian agency with a request for the need to conduct an investigation to establish the causes, as well as to take measures aimed at excluding cases of shipments to Russia of products that do not meet the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation.

"In case of detection of similar violations in the future, the Rosselkhoznadzor, in accordance with the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union, will be forced to impose restrictions on the supply of the company's products to the Russian Federation," they concluded.
