OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the world community should work together to look for alternatives to the growing confrontation. He spoke about this at the Primakov Readings, according to the Kremlin website. “The world has indeed come to a dangerous point, international relations are reeling”, he noted.

Putin called for a joint search for “viable alternatives” to confront and “push through” some countries for their political and economic interests, in particular, through sanctions and trade wars. Earlier, Putin said that at present there are two possible scenarios of further events on the world arena, one of which is the rebirth of the universal model of globalization. According to the president, it turns into “a parody, a caricature of itself”: international rules are replaced by laws, administrative and judicial mechanisms of one country or a group of influential states. Putin noted that the United States is acting in a similar way.

The president noted that such a model contradicts the “emerging realities of a complex multipolar world” and also doesn't meet the challenges of the future. “This is the way to endless conflicts, to trade wars, and maybe even not only trade ones. Figuratively speaking - to fights without rules of all against all”, said Putin. Speaking at the forum, Putin also said that the current model of the world economy is in crisis, despite the growth. According to the head of state, the relevant problems are accumulating and multiplying all the past decades.
