OREANDA-NEWS Arsenic, lead, mercury and many toxins that can cause cancer, diabetes and infertility were found in tampons from 12 popular global tampon brands. The fact that hygiene products were recognized as dangerous is reported by the Telegram channel Mash.

The reason why toxins appeared in the products of Kotex, O.B. ProComfort and other brands is called negligence in the production of raw materials around the world. Among them are the location of cotton fields near lead factories, the use of bleaches, paints and antibacterial agents, which cause the content of arsenic, barium, calcium, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, manganese, mercury, nickel, lead, selenium, strontium, vanadium and zinc to go off scale in tampons.

According to sources, the described drugs can destroy the endocrine system, cause infertility, damage the heart and nervous system, as well as contribute to the development of cancer and destroy the microflora.

Earlier, Roskachestvo found yeast, mold and problems with pH (acidity level) in samples of some brands of baby diapers. Extraneous inclusions could be introduced both during the production process and during packaging, storage and delivery. The agency noted that fungi and yeast can cause local inflammation and irritation.
