Poll: 42% of Employers are Ready to Hire Retirees
OREANDA-NEWS. The statistics refute the prevailing opinion in society that enterprises prefer not to hire pre-retirees and retirees.
Almost 42% of the companies surveyed are ready to consider the employment of citizens of retirement age on an equal basis with the employment of young job seekers, Superjob notes.
About 30% of companies are ready to hire pensioners as an exception, and 28% said they are not ready to employ pensioners.
“Due to demographic processes and the departure of a significant part of labor migrants, the labor market is faced with a natural aging of the labor force.
Companies are hiring older workers due to a shortage of young professionals.
"On a general basis, applicants of retirement age are most often accepted by large business: 48% versus 40% in small companies. Among companies ... the most loyal to candidates of retirement age are in the field of transport and logistics (45%), construction (44%) and manufacturing (43 %) ", Explains Superjob.
The survey was conducted from 10 to 16 August among 1,000 HR managers of companies from all regions of Russia.
The bill on the reduction of the retirement age was submitted by the deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation to the State Duma. The retirement age in it is reduced to 60 years for men and 55 years for women, as it was before 2018. The explanatory note to the bill lists the negative consequences of raising the retirement age. Among them is the deterioration of the health of people forced to work in the pre-retirement age.
