Petersburg Authorities Asked Tourists not to Come for the New Year
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Evgeny Yelin, the authorities of St. Petersburg do not plan to introduce new restrictions in the city before the New Year holidays.
He is sure that the measures already introduced have already reduced the tourist attractiveness of the city, and made it possible for people to take care of their health.
He urged both residents of the city and potential guests to meet this holiday at home, adding that St. Petersburg loves guests very much, loves tourists very much, but not this year. The vice-governor asked tourists not to come to Peterburg this year.
Now in the city there are certain restrictive measures. Earlier it was reported that from December 25 to January 10, restaurants will be open from 6:00 to 19:00, and from December 30 to January 3, they will be closed altogether. In addition, from December 30 to January 10, museums and theaters will not work, and it is prohibited to conduct bus tours and any events in rooms with more than 50 people.
As the vice-governor explained, one of the reasons for the new restrictions was the concert of rapper Basta in the Ice Palace. The authorities now expect a surge in the incidence of coronavirus associated with the event and do not want similar cases to happen again.
